Shop Stewards Course a huge success

CMAW members from across the west at a Shop Stewards course in Vancouver in Sept. 16.CMAW hosted a one-day Shop Stewards course attended by 21 members from BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan on Sept. 16.

The course provided members with new insights into the way the union works and the important role shop stewards play on the job site.

"Feedback from those who attended was great," said CMAW President Jan Noster. "They were happy with the information which was provided, they found the sessions very informative, and they were glad they took the time out to attend." He indicated further courses will be held when demand warrants it.

Participants also indicated the workshop encouraged them to become even more involved in union activities. "An active membership is vital to the success of any union," said Noster.
